Message from the President

Damien CodyWelcome to the HFC website. The Heatherton FC has a very proud history dating way back to 1913. During this time the club has provided the opportunity to thousands of young men to play a team sport and represent their local community. Whether it be our young Auskickers or our senior players, the HFC, plays an important role in the lives of many families.

I encourage all of our supporters , friends, current and past players and officials to stay in touch with what is happening at “Tunner” land by regularly checking this site. Why not make the HFC site your home page, that way you will be kept up to date with the latest results, ladders, fixtures and events at the club.

I would also encourage supporters to get along to our games and watch a great game of local footy, enjoy a cold beer, a glass of wine, and a scrumptious hot lunch. Become a social member for $50 and you will get free entry to all of our home and away games as well as $20 voucher from Khe Sanh Asian Restaurant. Hit the contact button and let us know you would like to join and we’ll prepare a membership kit for you.

On the sponsors page you will find a number of ways you can assist HFC with our goals. Whether it be a formal sponsorship or the simplicity of joining the “Friends of Heatherton”, we would welcome your assistance and urge you to be a part of this great Club as we surge ahead into an exciting era for the Club.

I look forward to seeing you at Ross St.

Cheers,

Damien (Buff) Cody

President.

Milestone

One of the clubs most skilled and naturally gifted players Scott Regnier this week notches up 150 games. Scotty is a two time club best and fairest, premiership player, runner up in SFL division 2 reserves B & F and club leading goalkicker. Scotty has always been difficult for opposition sides to man. An imposing figure on the park, he is a fine mark and a raking kick and once he steps over that white line is passionate about his and the teams performances. Scotty does not take a backward step is not shy in providing an opinion on the state of play. Any comments he makes are for the betterment of the team. This week he will be representing the club in 2009 grand final and no doubt giving his all for the black and white. In latter years he has developed as a leader at the club and are younger players stand tall in his presence. He has involved himself in organising some of the off field social functions. His hard work has not gone unnoticed. Well done Scott. You are a bloody marvel.

Anthony O'Connell is another to celebrate a milestone. His 50th is this week and Ant can be a powerhouse forward on his day. Already represented the club at senior level in a grand final and is now ready to peak. Ant is aggressive at the ball and his pack marking has always been a highlight. Strongly built and the tougher the contest the better for Ant. Well done and we'd love to see a full pre season and a full year so you could display for your full range of talent.

In addition to all our sponsors thanks to Gary “Radar” Ryan for his magnificent gesture and to the Kingston Council for all their efforts throughout the year into developing the Heatherton Reserve. The liaison between the council and the club has been great. Exciting to see finals footy (Div 3) being played at the reserve and endorsed by the crowds who have attended. Certainly could be a showpiece for the future.
